Jacaranda mimosifolia
Jacaranda Tree   large product photo
A beautiful flowering landscape specimen, 30 to 50 feet tall and 40 to 60 feet wide. Needs lots of space to grow. Exceedingly numerous blue to purple flowers, 1 1/2 inches long, appearing in late spring before the leaves, covering the entire tree. Native to subtropical Brazil, prefers full sun. Highly drought tolerant. Fallen flowers are pretty on lawns (but slippery on pavement).
