I hear that investing in teak is a risky business because companies promise high revenues and do not pay out what they promise. What makes your company different?
KETSO is different from other tree plantations in that it uses your investment to plant both pineapples and teak trees. It takes about 18 months for the first pineapple plants to bear pineapples. The first pineapples can be harvested after 2 years. The plants also bear fruit in the third and fourth year. Each pineapple can be sold for 1 US dollar on the local market. We can plant 4000 pineapples on 1/8 hecatre between the trees. That will give us 12000 USD in 4 year, enough to cover the planting costs and repay your initial investement.
Other tree planters solely plant trees. They have no other way to pay your investment other than through sales of trees for timber. It may take up to 12 years before the first sales. Quite often the costs are higher than the sales of the first harvest of trees. Investors get dissapointed because they do not see their returns as early as pormised. Some companies may even go bankrupt because of this. KESTO is different. We use the sale of pineapples to pay back the initial investments. The risks are lower. You get your initial investment back through the sale of pineapples. All you have to do after that is wait till the trees mature for the final profit payment. The expected profits are given it the table in the following link.
