A unique feature of the Kakua Educative Tree Seed Orchard (KETSO) is that it keeps community needs in mind whilst focusing on optimal utilisation of land for trees and cash crops. More efficient and environmentally acceptable methods of increasing yeild are introduced like the development of compost heaps and the use trees with nitrogen fixing qualities. The Makombeh and Gbanti villages have been the main areas of KETSO community support . There the following has been achieved:
- Farmers trained in tree nursing including a field schoool focussing on efficient low cost farming techniques
- Forty acre tree farm developed at Makombeh village
- Village infrastructure (roads & bridges built)
- Standard of living of the villagers improved by developing a seed bank (e.g. oil palm, rice and funde)
- Ensure sustainability through the cultivation and marketing of castor beans, ginger, rice and funde
- A primary school built and sustained
- Store, office and accomodation spaces for farmers and school teacher built
